What will be the DJ for the night in search of boxes of documents or files on CD to learn a song that you know you have asked, but it seems to have disappeared. Multiply by 20 or 30 times a night together with the individual albums research or CD jackets for the songs, so the dance floor packed and you have a night of frustration at not to spend your time interacting with the public and dancers. Early in my career I have worked with 45, and albums. Boxes on boxes of discs that I dragged to and from the van. Most of the album had one song that I would use. Many disks I had used for months. You must have all, because after all, may be today evening, the night that someone wants a song about that long forgotten slice. I have back pain to this day just thinking about it.
Finally, about two years, I decided thatthere had to be a better way. Certainly Cd's had made my life easier but a few thousand of these can be quite a hefty load in and by itself. My next move and the smartest one that I've made, is the day that I decided to be a Laptop DJ. My nights became fun again and I never looked back.
Being A laptop DJ, It was now possible to "carry" thousands of songs on my laptop hard drive. Only weighing about 7 pounds the laptop made it possible to get rid of two CD decks, 6 or 7 boxes of crates, use a less bulky mixing board and gave me Instant access to any song needed in about 10 to 15 seconds. I used an inexpensive DJ software program called OTSDJ. This allowed me to be able to "pick and click" "Drag and drop" song titles into a play list. I could instantly add DJ Drops, Sound Effects, Beats, Intros and DJ Samples in between the songs. This allowed me to make announcements or to Interact with the audience and if I needed a break the show went on as I had programed. Being a laptop DJ allowed me to finally be able to pass the time, the amount of dance movement, creating excitement and fun, but my head hangs down to find the most numerous requests, which is every DJ. You can also aa few seconds of dead space between songs, so you can make announcements. How about planning the wedding music, so there is no need to be on stage for an hour and a half a music background. There are so many ways that is a mobile DJHelp them through the night.
Today I have much more fun DJ'ing. My back hurts a lot less does not carry tons of equipment, DJ and songs, and why more in tune with the public and I am interacting with them, I seem to get more work. Together with the songs, I use different voices to the mix. I do this by creating DJ Drop-voiceover in my office, and adding special effects to a sweeper, as you would hear on the radio. Use them to say between songs, I can take a breakand go into the crowd to take requests or take a break at the other end bathroom needed a lot of room. The DJ continues to talk between songs and the audience loves him. The owners of the club see it as a professional. No more jumping records or discs to refuse to play. Well, if you then mix in a complicated techniques could not work for you. Its not a fix all for all types of music. But if your like me andthe most important things is to ensure that the full dance floor and no dead space between songs, then a decent laptop DJ software quality program may be what it takes to set you free. It takes a little 'time to configure and load all the songs, but it is done after DJ'ing is a breeze. Get a couple of props, dancing on the speakers, take the wireless microphone and DJs from all over the room. Your audience will be celebrated with you, do not ask where the emotion is.
